A political (National) movement is preceded by a Socio- Religious Reformation movement. This happened in India in the 19th century when social reformers carried on the Reformation movement. Swami Dayanand Saraswati was one of those eminent reformers. In order to awaken the people from the ground level, his followers started a network of educational institutions. DAV institutions thus came into being.
Founded in 1990 with the purpose of providing a balanced mix of Anglican and Vedic education, D.A.V. Public School, Kedla, managed by D.A.V.College Managing Committee, New Delhi, is the biggest innovative 10+2 school in the state of Jharkhand with around 1000 students on roll from class LKG to XII. An English Medium Co-educational school run on the most modern lines, the school is affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for Secondary and Senior-Secondary examinations and is committed to provide affordable and quality education to its students. A score springs have sped by since D.A.V Public School Kedla, sprang into existence spreading the fragrance of knowledge ceaselessly and successfully. The school, a pioneer and champion of activity-based education and an epitome of value based education, in all these years, has stood as a steadily burning beacon of light against the storm ridden murky sea of trouble and turbulence. The school itself is a saga of success and has been creating new vistas of development and prosperity transforming vices to virtues, troubles to triumphs, struggles into blessing, adversity into victory, ignorance to knowledge, darkness to light and so on. Today about 1300 flowers are blooming in the school’s educational garden under the loving and tender care of 31 teaching and 16 non-teaching gardeners led by the challenge-seeker,  Bikash Kumar Banerjee, Teacher Incharge. Keeping with the tradition of DAV organization, our school aims at mingling education with cultural and ethical values to bring out the true personality of each and every student to strive for the all–round development, the development of Head, Heart, and Hand of the child. It has not only motivated the students to be competent enough to secure high profile jobs in future but also to instill in them sound moral values for their all round development creating a congenial atmosphere in school so that they can confront the real world outside as well as the harsh realities of life as ideal citizens and perfect human beings. The school offers Science and Commerce streams at the +2 level. Every year a number of students pass out from this institution successfully and join prestigious institutions all over India and abroad contributing richly to the varied spheres of work they have chosen as their vocation. The school also recognizes the value of the overall personality development of the child; hence it provides ample opportunities to the students to do so by way of inter-house competitions, cluster level, zonal level and national level literary, cultural and games and sports competitions, class-shows, trips and excursions, workshops and seminars etc. Through these activities the school endeavours to provide competitive spirit as well as leadership qualities to the students, which further strengthens their organizational, managerial and administrative skills.
